Tester walkthrough

Thanks for helping test Tobren Deliver. This walks the whole product end to end. You are not expected to know what “correct” looks like — that’s the point. Anything that confuses you, looks wrong, feels slow, or makes you hesitate is worth reporting, even if you’re not sure it’s a bug.

Budget 45–60 minutes. You don’t have to finish in one sitting.

Use your phone or tablet. Most of our customers open galleries on an iPhone, so that’s where problems matter most. If you also have a laptop, do a second pass there later — but lead with the phone.

You’ll be two people today. First the studio (the photographer selling photos), then their customer (someone buying). Keep them apart:

  • Studio → your normal browser
  • Customer → a Private tab (Safari: tap the tabs icon → Private), or a different browser entirely

If you do both in the same window you’ll be signed in as the studio while looking at the customer’s view, everything will look fine, and you’ll miss the exact bugs we’re hunting.

Use an email you can actually receive mail at — you’ll get a real receipt.

Once you’re signed in, there’s a Feedback button in the bottom-right corner of every screen. Tap it, pick a type, describe what happened, attach a screenshot, send. It reaches us with the page you were on already attached.

Type Use it for
Bug Something broken or wrong
Feature An idea, or “I expected to be able to…”
Question You got stuck or confused — that’s a bug in the product, not in you

You can attach up to 3 images, 5 MB each (PNG, JPEG, WebP or GIF).

  • iPhone (no home button) — press Side button + Volume Up together
  • iPhone (home button) — press Home + Side together
  • iPad (no home button) — press Top button + Volume Up together
  • iPad (home button) — press Home + Top together

It flashes and saves to Photos. In the feedback form, tap the screenshot field and choose Photo Library.

If a screen is long, screenshot the part that shows the problem — we’d rather have the error than the whole page.

Three lines is plenty:

What I did: Tapped Buy on two photos in the gallery What I expected: To pay and get my photos What happened: It said “purchase complete” but the photos still had the watermark and no download button

The single most useful thing you can add is roughly what time it happened — it lets us find your exact session in the logs.

Please report these too, not just outright breakage:

  • Anything that took longer than you expected
  • Any text that reads oddly, has a typo, or doesn’t sound like a real person
  • Anything you had to tap twice, or couldn’t tap accurately with your thumb
  • Anywhere you weren’t sure what to do next

Open tobren.io/deliver on your phone.

Read the page as if you were a photographer deciding whether to try this — we want your reaction to it. Then tap one of the Start free trial buttons.

On the signup page:

  1. Choose Professional (or Studio if you’d rather — anything above Starter).
  2. Complete signup. You should not be asked for a credit card. If you are, stop and report it — that’s a real bug and we want to know immediately.
  3. You’re on a 14-day trial.

Tell us: was it obvious what you were getting? Did the plan differences make sense? Did anything make you hesitate before signing up?

You’re now the photographer. Everything here lives under Settings.

Fill in the studio name, address and contact details. These show up on your customers’ emails and receipts.

Upload a logo, a banner, and a favicon, and set your colours. The banner works best at 1600×400. Use any images you have — a photo from your camera roll is fine.

Check: your logo should appear at the top of your workspace. Later, in the customer view, it should appear there too.

Choose text (types your studio name over previews) or logo (uses an image you upload).

Try logo, then look at a preview after uploading photos in Part 3.

Tell us: is the watermark the right size? Too big, too small, in the way of the photo? This is one we especially want opinions on.

Connect Stripe or Square. Customer payments go straight to that account — Tobren never touches the money.

You’ll need a Stripe or Square account. If you don’t have one and don’t want to create one, skip this and tell us — then stop before Part 4, since you can’t buy anything without it.

Under Shoot Expiry, you can leave the default or set Never expire.

Note: this applies to shoots you create afterwards. It doesn’t change anything you’ve already made. If that surprises you, say so — that’s useful.

  1. Create a public gallery (the kind you can share with a link).
  2. Upload 5–10 photos from your camera roll. Real photos at full size — tiny test images won’t show watermark problems.
  3. Wait for them all to finish processing.
  4. Set prices — try a per-photo price on some, and build a package too.
  5. Publish it, and copy the link.

Check: every photo finished. Anything stuck on “failed” is a bug — report it with the filename.

Tell us: how did uploading from your phone feel? Could you tell it was working? Did it survive you switching apps or locking the screen?

Switch to a Private tab. Paste the gallery link.

This is the part that matters most — it’s what a real client sees.

  1. Look around first. Photos should carry your watermark, prices should show.
  2. Pick two photos and start a purchase.
  3. Sign in when asked. Use a different email from your studio account. Try Google or Apple sign-in if you have them — those paths need testing.
    • Check: after signing in you should land back on the same gallery, with your picks still selected. Anywhere else is a bug — report it.
  4. Pay. Use a real card if you’re comfortable (you can refund it later from the studio side), or a test card if you set the provider up in test mode.
    • Check: you’ll briefly see “Payment received — unlocking your photos”, which should become “Purchase complete” within a few seconds. A short wait is normal. Waiting more than about a minute is not — report it.
  5. Download a photo you bought.
    • Check: the downloaded file should be the full-size original with no watermark. If it still has the watermark, report it — that’s important.
  6. Try “download all” if you bought more than one. On iPhone this opens the share sheet. Tell us if it does anything strange.
  7. Check your email for the receipt.

Tell us: would you have trusted this enough to pay, if it were a real photographer you’d hired? Anything that made you uneasy is worth saying.

Return to your normal browser.

  • Orders — your purchase should be there, paid, with the right photos.
  • Customers — your test customer should appear, with what they viewed, bought and downloaded.

Tell us: could you tell, at a glance, who bought what?

Only if you have time. Each is worth doing on its own.

Group purchasing — turn it on for a shoot (it’s for teams and classes where one parent pays for everyone). Buy something as one customer, then look at the gallery as a second customer and check the photo is unlocked for them too, marked Group.

Your phone sideways — rotate to landscape on a gallery, a checkout, and the studio settings. Report anything that overlaps, cuts off, or won’t scroll.

Poor signal — turn on Airplane Mode mid-upload or mid-purchase, then turn it off. Does it recover, or does it get stuck?

Zoomed text — if you use larger text on your phone (Settings → Display & Brightness → Text Size), see whether anything overlaps or gets cut off.

Send it in with the Feedback button and move on to the next part — don’t spend 20 minutes fighting one screen. A blocked tester is itself a useful finding, and “I couldn’t get past this” is a perfectly good report.
